Sony Xperia Arc S?

Hi, looking for a new phone at the moment for general usage (email, games apps etc). I am a total smartphone noob.

I had a look at a friend's Samsung Galaxy 2 and I am not so so keen on it (seems to get pretty hot after continuous usage).

The other phones I can get easily are the LG Optimus (PG990) or the Sony Xperia Arc S (Lt18i). The Arc S is pretty cheap and seems quite nice.

Is this a pretty decent phone?

It has a great screen but is bit under powered when compared to other phones like the SGSII(hence the cheaper price). It certainly could be classified as a decent phone but we are entering an era where dual-core will be standard and probably necessary for gaming.

My Xperia Play is good at games, I think people are forgetting how powerful a 1Ghz single core can be, some of the greatest games of all time(Unreal Tournament, Battlefield 1942, and the Quake series) were powered by CPUs much less then 1GHz. Plus the extra core cuts battery life.

I can't complain at all about my phone.

Cheers - it is cheaper here than the US i think (about USD 320.00 for an unlocked version). So i think it will be a good first Android phone.

For games I am mainly thinking Angry Birds/Plants vs Zombies style games (killing time at airports). So I am sure it will cope
