I had some wireless Beats Studio 2 headphones for a few years, until the right earpiece broke off from the headband recently. Was going to just get some Studio 3s, but the reviews on it were pretty mediocre (especially for the price).

Decided to get the Sony's instead since they were a bit less expensive. Wow. Had no idea what I was missing out on. Literally everything is higher quality: comfort, sound, noise cancelling, battery life, and Bluetooth connectivity. Everything. I take the train to work, and when I put these on all the noise and talking fades into nothing. I used to have to turn up my Beats to cover up the noise when it goes through tunnels. No more. These are amazing!

TLDR: Beats drool, Sony rules.

They are rated at the top at pretty much every site. Beats.......not so much. :p

My final decision for wireless headphones was between the Sony set you bought, and the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0.

The WH1000XM3 were $200 (no tax at AAFES) and the Momentum's were $180 + tax. I ended up going with the Sennheiser set based on what reviewers said about their overall sound quality, and so far I love the sound of them.

However, I don't travel on public transportation, so I don't know how well the noise cancellation works. Although every review I read said that Sony's noise cancellation was better.

I ended up paying a little more than that at Amazon. Guess I should have looked at the base exchange! I looked at the Sennheisers and a Bose set also. They all looked great wrt sound quality, but noise cancelling was the deciding factor for me.

Had mine for over a year and use them daily. Amazing how well the noise cancelling works. So good in fact that I end up turning down the volume, even when flying. Also helps when I'm in open seating environments which the corporate world seems to love.
