I'm having an interesting problem with a Sony Notebook. When the system is in the Bios everything is fine, but as soon as it starts to boot into an OS it turns it self off, almost as if it has gone into hibernation or something. The thing has been dropped by the looks of it, and it not in the best condidtion, but still works ok in the bios. I have tried flashing the bios, re-doing the hibernation partition, taking the hibernation partition off, taking the thing to bits!! Its madness. If the battery was faulty, the thing wouldnt turn off nomatter what you were doing, and if the cmos battery was dead, it wouldnt hold the bios settings. The only thing i think it must be now, is a faulty hdd, or some other component. Sometimes, it will boot and sit there in Windows fine! then all of a sudden its gone again!!

I would be very gratefull if somebody could shed some light on this problem for me.

If it looks like it was dropped, then more than likely
it was dropped.

You might want to reseat the RAM, and if possible, the Hard Drive.
(not really familair with a PCGF305)
