Sony Vegas mpeg exporting

QueBert

Lifer
I picked up Vegas on Ebay, I created a video clip I wanted to turn into a DVD. I have Encore 2 . Initally I tried exporting it as mpeg2 NTSC, when I went to import it into Encore it just sat there saying it was importing, the bar would move, hit 100% and go back a bit and kept doing this, I never got an error or anything. So just to check I exported from Vegas as mpeg1, standard resolution, nothing change as far as settings. Same deal when I tried to import into Encore.

My neighbor has Premiere Elements, I put both mpeg/mpeg2 on a CD and took them to his house, in P.E. when I import the video clips, for the thumbnail it's showing the default adobe image when a clip is bad, and they won't play.

I am puzzled as the clips I exported from Vegas play fine in WMP, GOM & WINDVD. There must be something in the way Adobe imports clips, but I don't know what to do to get Vegas to export the file so I can get it going in Encore and create my DVD.

Any suggestions? I'm stuck here.
