I just got this delivered to me today.
Bought it used for $625 shipped.

PIII 750
20gb hd
384mb ram
officexp pro
winxp pro

docking station and case.

First impression: "DAMN THIS THING IS TINY"
Going from a Dell Inspiron to a Super Slim is a big difference.
It weighs less than 4lbs :)

I dont think I can ever go back to that Inspiron 4150 :) :D

Now to figure out if this has a mini pci slot so I can add an internal wireless card :D

I owned a Vaio Laptop previously.
I bought htis laptop used so the warranty is well over.
I'm not really worried about this laptop. I'm only gonna be using it for internet browsing, emails, mp3s and office :)

Ugh... I'm sick of super slim laptops, I hope you are happy with yours cuz my Toshiba Portege 2000 is CRAZY SLOW because of the harddrive. Almost unbearable, thankfully it's only my secondary PC.

It's true that IBM laptops are rock-solid and last a long time... but Sony makes sleeker and smaller laptops. I'm having this debate right now... my CEO wants to get a small Sony laptop, but it's really expensive and probably not as durable as an IBM. But, since he's paying the bills, i think i'll order the Sony for him.

The sony slim is built pretty well.
Metal casing, and it feels solid.

if your boss wants something slim try to find something directly from Japan. They got laptops 1/2 the width of the ones here

i wish you had saw my old posts on my sony vaio which is the same model as yours....

i had the most horrible experience with it. do not use Nero for burning cds, otherwise you can kiss the docking station good bye and sony support is the worse ever, i had the laptop for only a few months and they would not do anytihng to help me. they almost wanted to charge me for the phone call.

from my personal experience i can say i hate sony laptops sorry

I have the older model of this notebook and it ROCKS.

There's nothing like the freedom that 4 lbs. gives you when your campus is 350+ acres.

When you think about it, all you REALLY need is a network jack or a wireless card - all the extra CD/DVD/Floppy drives are just dead weight 99% of the time, so leave them at home.

In my opinion, Sony's engineering & workmanship are second to none - take care of your equipment and it will last a long time....

Good luck!

I don't have anything bad to say about Sony besides the high prices.

Using two different Sony laptops here with no problems. One is about 6-7 months old and the other is about 5 months.

BTW, the TR series looks very good.
