I have a serious problem :-(
I bought the laptop at the subject in the US a month ago, unfortunately, I was told that I'll get a WinXP Home with the laptop but I got Win2k Pro with it.
Now, At the moment I am no longer in the US and I doubt if that store will agree to help me anymore :-(
I want to install Windows XP on my laptop as I have some applications that requires me to use XP.
Sony's Support refused to help me out here, and I am stucked without drivers for all the features I have on my laptop,
such as:
Jog
Battery
Sound Card
Firewire
I have tried upgrading the Win2K to my LEGIT copy of Windows XP Home and it succeeded, BUT I've encountered A LOT of post install problems (Explorer crashed around each 5 minutes or so...).
I am calling here for help, advises and such ...
What should I do? Can anyone provide me with the Windows XP Application Recovery CD for the Vaio R505GL???
Anyone knows what can I tell to Sony's staff so they'll maybe help me out here?
My girlfriend is travelling to the US again, do you think I should give her my laptop so she'll try to replace it for me? Though I already have the laptop for mor ethen a month.. ?
Or, anyone knows where cna I download the drivers for it? (I couldnt find it on Sony's website, and the procedure they provide to "upgrade" to XP actually eliminates most of the feature I have on my laptop.
