The fan in the PS was not working so I replaced with a new one and it still doesn't spin. Is this fan thermostatically controlled or should it be on at power up. The cpu fan runs and the cd roms and HD have power, it just seems to be the power supply fan.

cmputer is a Sony PCV-RX640 do they have issues in this area?

any help is appreciated.

No ideas here, guess I could plug it in and let it run to see if fan kicks in.

How about wiring the PSU fan to a 12v molex conector? This way the fan is always running

Found out last night, Red fan to yellow molex and Black to black. Works fine.

alfa147x thanks for the idea.
