I have a Sony Vaio PCG-SRX87 laptop with a cracked 10.4in lcd but the problem is that sony wants 400$ to provide me with replacement panel, i keep seeing 10.4 panels on ebay for other notebooks(ie ibm thinkpad) for like 40 dollars, my qusetion is that do these things have standardized connectors or will only the sony panel work, and if thats the case dose anyone know a good place to get a cheap replacement panel. thanks

edit: i found that my current(broken) panel is a Toshiba LTM10C320, and everywhere i look these things are like 400$ i have no idea why this part costs so much....

It's likely that they use proprietary connectors. Check what your connector looks like and then ask a seller for a photo of their panels connector. Even if it doesn't work you can always sell the panel again on ebay at aminimal loss.
