Sony Vaio notebook question

I just upgraded my dad's Sony Vaio pcg f390 to windows 2000 (upgrade, not clean install like recommended). I had a few questions for anyone with experiance upgrading sony notebooks.
For some reason the 2000 drivers for the battery scope, notebook setup, and function keys do not work properly. I don't know if it is because i did the upgrade and need to delete some old driver files or what.
Any help out there?

The only proper way to install W2K that I know if is a clean install. It also helps if you rewrite the HD to NTFS. The big problem that you will probably have is that since that is most likely a store bought comp all you have is a system restore disk. So you have to really search to find the different drivers that you need off of that disk. I have a store bought HP comp and had problems with certain drivers and/or programs I was use to using no longer available. It took me approx. a week to reclaim the specific drivers and programs off of the system restore disk. Hope this helps. If not, Good Luck W2K is awesome!!
