Ok, I have a Sony Vaio Laptop (PCG-FX14) running WINME. When I have the resoultion set to 1024x768 it fills the whole screen but when I adjust it down to 800x600 or 640x480 it does not fill the screen. It just uses less room on the monitor. Kinda like when you watch a movie in Wide Screen format and you have the black bar on top and on the bottom. Same thing just on all four sides of the display. Make sense?

Now, if I set it to a larger resoultion like 1280x1024 it makes the display larger then the monitor and you have to scroll up or down or left or right to get it all in. What's the deal? Is there a setting somewhere I can go to mkae it fill out the screen?

Thanks for any ideas you may have!

LCD displays have a certain amount of pixels, that can not be changed. Some drivers (or hardware) support scaling a different size display to fill the entire screen, but when you take a 800x600 image and scale it up to 1024x768 it looks pretty darn ugly. If you want to experience the hideousness for yourself, try lookiing in advanced properties of the display and see if there is an option to fill the whole screen. Also try in BIOS.

No option in the display settings to fill the screen and I'm not sure how to access the bios. I tried F1 and DEL during startup but neither worked....
