I have a Sony Vaio E Series (SVE1511MFXS) at work and with all the dev tools and VMs I run I find it thrashing the disk a lot more often that I would prefer. I was thinking about a RAM upgrade as it has 8GB right now.
However, the spec sheet (PDF) for this laptop says Max Memory 8GB and I was wondering if that was just a validation issue (false limitation), or if that is a real limitation of the chipset/motherboard in this laptop.
Has anyone successfully upgraded a Sony Vaio E Series to 16GB of RAM? If so, what is your model number?
