Sony USB Monitor

I am thinking about buying a 19" sony monitor, but some of its specifications and the ramifications of them are unclear. It says that the monitor has a built in USB hub, so I am assuming that it would therefore have to connect to the computer via USB, am I correct? Now, if the monitor connects via USB and not the VGA port on the graphics card, does that mean the processor is gonna have to handle all the graphics work?

The USB hub is only that - A powered USB hub. It has nothing to do with normal monitor functions, it's just a convenient place to hook up USB devices. They still connect with a regular D-sub connector.

So you're saying the monitor still connects via the graphics card? But how can they possibly connect a usb hub through the graphics card? I wouldn't think there would be enough bandwidth going back to the computer on the vga port.

uhm....you connect from one of your USB ports in the back to the USB hub port in the back of the monitor. You then have 2 USB ports on each side of the monitor giving you 4 ports. This is so you can plug in peripherals like mice without running the cable to the computer. Its sorta convenient. The monitor can power the USB hub just fine (it doesnt use alot of power).
