I bought an Iomega zipCD 8x-4x-32x from buy.com a couple of weeks ago and it has been a royal pain in the ass. It would only record @ 4x on some Kodak Gold 8x media and some Imation 12x media. It finally recorded @ 8x but the data was corrupt so I'm gonna RMA it.

They have the Spressa for about the same price and I was wondering what people thought about it? Anyone have anything bad to say about it? Is it CloneCD compatible?

I just got a Spressa 8x-4x-32x CDRW last week and I'm very impressed with the quality of it's construction. I've already burned several CD's with it and not a coaster yet.

I upgraded from a Pine 4x-4x-24x which was a good drive but the Sony is a big improvement.

I haven't tried using CD-Clone on it but I imagine it would be compatible. The software that comes with the drive looks pretty good but so far I've stuck with Adaptec's Easy-CD creator.

I believe DirectCD isn't compatible with Sony's CD Extreme. Uninstall the latter if you prefer the former.

Great burner. About to sell one I have sitting around here. Never had a problem with it.

I Just got mine today. Eventhough i'm really new with the CD-RWs i think it's been great so far. No coaster yet. And i was using some very cheap blanks at the hightest write speed... no problem. I think it is CloneCD compatible. But you can check it out here and more!
