Sony SMC-70 running CP/M

I finally got all the parts needed to get my Sony SMC-70 up and running. It's hard to find parts for a computer built in 1982! I made a short video of a demo program written in Sony Basic.

My parents picked up one of these in 1982 as our first computer, I think they paid $5000 just for the system. I remember that each 3.5" disk cost $10. Fast forward to 2007 and I found some old disks for it when I was cleaning up but no system to read them. A guy from Florida had two of them sealed in a box and sent them to me, so now I can entertain myself by reading my elementary school papers I typed up on this thing!

The one I had as a kid died in 1993 during an electrical storm to be replaced with a Compaq running Windows 3.1 which died about 4 times and was finally returned to Service Merchandise and we picked up our "modern" system (Pentium 166 with 16 MB RAM and a 1.6 GB hard drive from a computer show) which lasted until I got my parents something newer.
