The Spiderman Movie!!

Sony Pictures has told us they are redoing the Spider-Man teaser poster, which was pulled because the World Trade Center was reflected in Spider-Man's eye. We do not have a date that the new one will be available yet.

Sony is also creating a new teaser trailer which will be out this December. The teaser trailer which was pulled from theaters, the official site and our site yesterday featured Spider-Man capturing bank robbers in a helicopter and using his web to span them in between the Twin Towers.

Sony will also use computer technology to remove images of the World Trade Center from the final movie in respect to the tragic events.

Shouldn't they leave the towers in the movie as a sign of respect? Like the glamourising its existence?

I'm with mAdD INDIAN.

There's actually a radio station in Manhattan that LEFT the WTC towers in their masthead IN TRIBUTE TO the falling of the towers. They had a long meeting about this and came to this decision almost unanomously.

I work at an Officemax and we got a call from Hewlett Packard today about a test page pod hooked up to the laserjet 2200. The test pod when pushed printed out a picture of a jet flying over the WTC... that would have been really bad if they hadn't caught it, I personally didn;t notice it until my manager pointed it out to me.

I agree.

This is a terrible tragedy that is happening, but we cannot just block out these images from our lives. We can't hide it and it wont go away.

They (News outlets) are willing to show the second plane crashing on TV repeatedly, yet they want to remove the "undisturbed" image of the towers??? Doesn't make sense to me...

When you're trying to sell a product, you don't want to fill your customers with bad feelings and memories... especially RIGHT after such a tramatic event.

I also saw today that they are going to take a scene out of the movie where Spiderman has a helicopter caught in a web strung between the towers

I don't know whats more bizarre, seeing them in a picture or not seeing them in a picture.

Either way, this is a monumental decision by Sony to alter so much in their movie. And I also agree with AmusedOne, that using a symbol now associated with this tremendous tragedy to sell a product ain't exactly the best move for any company.
