Sony Profits Plunge 47%

The positive spin:

- Gaming does $320 million better than last year (+$51 vs. -$269)
- PS3 sales more than double last year (1.56 million vs. 700K)

Why is this in the console gaming forum, when the gaming division actually did far better than last year and wasn't the reason why the profits plunged? Sony does more than just gaming you know. OP just wanted to bait. 😛

Maybe if they laid off their rootkit development department and the team of lawyers on the payroll assigned to sue grandmothers, they'd be reporting a profit.

Actually, the rootkit's development was outsourced to a third party (outside of SonyBMG). They are one step ahead in rootkit development cost saving😉

But, they still make SecuROM in house.

I was working for BMG at that time. You wouldnt believe how many MILLIONS went into that. Plus the millions more in the suits. Ug, glad I left.
