how reliable is the slim compared to the original fat one?
im told the fat one is virtually indestructible!

The used models are getting discounted locally and XBoxes are selling at a premium.

Have they fixed the PS3 online gaming issues?

Is there some coupon or was the title price of $250 reflecting the $50 GC with purchase? Don't have a PS3 but some friends do. I used to have an xbox 360 before it was stolen. I just always found myself bored with the 360 and typically just gamed on my PC. Seems like a good deal but I don't know if I would put it to good use. :9

You pay $299 and get a PS3 and a $50 Newegg gift card. Title is somewhat misleading.

That's right: Free $50 Newegg gift card is good deal if for September Back to School SONY won't cut prices...You never know.

While still awhile out, the Wii 2 may put pressure for price cuts... possibly.

Also, Sony has shrunk the GPU from 65nm to 40nm since the 1st Slim release. The 160GB model should be 40nm.

Expect to see price drop announcements for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 between E3 and September.

I am sure the price will drop with all the security breaches, in my opinion. I certainly will not be purchasing a PS anytime soon.
