Sony Multiscan E400 monitor.... Is it dying??

My monitor has slowly but surely lost its crispness. When i bought it I set the brightness/contrast. About a year later, i realized it was too bright, turned it down... kept repeating itself.... now my brightness is at 0. So i have nowhere to go. I am using a pretty old Matrox G400 agp card. Could it be the card??? (is that even possible) I called sony and it is no longer in warrenty. The monitor still looks great, but i'm afraid that in 6 - 12 months it will be washed out.

I have the same monitor with the same exact problem. I recently upgraded to a 19" LCD. I was running dual monitors at one point but the Sony looked really blurry and washed out. I think it's dying as wel. I think my warranty ran out this past July

G400 here...same symptoms. I have to use the ATI control panel to tone down the brightness and contrast.

Hmm... so we have 1 vote for the monitor, one for the video card. I'd love to upgrade my videocard and get my contrast back!!

woops, you meant G400 sony monitor (almost identical except it has a dual input) not my grafix card.
