Will never try to make a deal at BB again....they totally suck it!
(I was shooting for ordering from instore using kiosk, choosing instore pickup-as shown at BB.com...making the online rebates valid)

Here is their Instore Pickup info from the BB site itself...

"Store Availability
Each product page contains a store availability message. There are 3 messages:

(1) Available for pickup at most stores - This indicates that most of our stores have this item available for store pickup. However, it does not guarantee that any one store will have this product.
(2) Limited store pickup availability - This indicates that store pickup availability is limited. This may happen with oversize items due to space constraints in the store.
(3) Not available for store pickup - This indicates that this product is not available for pickup at a store. One of the benefits of shopping online is access to our extended assortment. Due to space constraints the stores need to limit the products they offer. "

Now, CSR's I talked to say even if you are choosing Instore Pickup-they ship the item to the store, from BB.com. This, would make number 1 from above invalid. They are full of it. Even the last CSR I spoke to said she couldnt explain it to me very well.

If they ship every "Instore Pickup" to the local B&M, then logic would dictate - *EVERY STORE* would have that option, not "most". Every B&M receives shipments from a truck.

OK...Im done ranting...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did get alittle bit of revenge.

They have Altec Lansing 2.1 Speaker System (3-Piece) ? ATP3 for $79.99
with 2x $20 rebates (that print at the register) ends 2/1.
I got BB to pricematch with the PC-Club in town, who sells them for $69.99.
Making mine a whopping $29.99

This looked like an interesting player but OOS for me. I'm looking for a player that can handle DVD--R/RW or DVD+R/RW for home movies I intend to burn on my Sony DRU-500A.

I think its OOS for everyone online. But when I called my local BB they had 9 of the Panasonic (one I got) and 8 of the Sony.

The Panasonic plays the DVD-R movies perfectly (even with a label on the disk).

I have a cheap 50pack of DVD-R from PC-Club- 1x. Even those play without a hitch.

I told my co-worker about this deal. He went into the store and bought one. It rang up at $99.99 and no rebate printed out. Unfortunately online rebates for Best Buy are not good with any items purchased in the store. This is in the Los Angeles area.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

As Atrac mentioned, this is in the fine print on all the rebates: BestBuy.com rebates are valid with online purchases only. One of the Panasonic rebates is a manufacturer's rebate though, so you can get that one for sure.

Is it a coincidence that probably 70-80% of all BestBuy.com deals with rebate are OOS?

Anyway, I have the Panasonic DVD-RV32K that I bought from 6thave.com. CD's sound great, DVD's play back without a single glitch (unlike my Apex AD-3201 that pauses on layer change). Nero-encoded VBR MP3's sound awful though, like a bad FM radio. Probably not the DVD player's fault, but the Nero encoder.

I was always a Sony fan, but that was before the lasers started dying in all my Sony MD players, CD players, and even my early Sony CD-RW drive. I had both CD and MD lasers die in my Aiwa minisystem, and I took it apart to find the lasers were both Sony. I had a friend that bought a 2nd gen Sony DVD player, and a year later its laser died too. Since then, I've been a bit leery to buy any Sony products that have lasers.

I called BB this morning. And you are right, not all BB's are running the same instore promotions. And they dont all match the online rebates. This is retarded.
