Sony mulls pricecot to PS3

To gain marjket share, they better be planning on dropping it ot the level of the XBox 360 or under that. I hope they arn't dreaming that a $100 reducation will gain market share.

A $100 price cut would help, I think. The lower-end PS3 is closer to the Xbox 360 than to the Xbox 360 core.

They need to do something, that's for sure. The amount of PS3's sitting around nowadays is amazing. I really wouldn't mind having one myself, but the price and scaling issue are huge problems for me (I have a 1080i-only TV).

I operate under the assumption that unless someone posts a link to the article, they're just propagating crud they heard from a friend (or friend of a friend ...), b/c a Ctrl-C Ctrl-V is so goddamn hard for them to do . If it is from an article, they likely have it open in their browser, and can present the hyperlink with two key combos, instead of requiring a dozen other people to search it on their own.

Sony considering price cuts some time before March 2008 isn't exactly breaking news:
