Sony Monitor Help Needed!

Hope I'm in the right area with this post.... I have a Sony CPD-220VS Trinitron Monitor bought new in Jan 1999. No problems at all until today when I changed a printer cable and didn't turn off the PC. The Monitor went off and won't start. ... I did the self test 'thing' and a small white area (screen area) flashes and I then do see the three lines of color as it says I should. I've been thru the manual and the web trying to find out if there is a fuse (maybe) to change or what to do or look for. I love the monitor and really need some help - other than the trash can. ... HELP! (Am using a monitor that goes to another PC:brokenheart:
