Does anyone have these and how do they like them? I was looking for the top pair of phones Best Buy has and these were the most expensive at $99.99, so I assume they are also the best. The bastards over there don't have any test models so I couldn't even feel or listen to the headphones.

In regards to purchasing @ Best Buy, remember that they have a 30-day return policy. While they don't have some sample headphones, they do allow you to buy 'em, try 'em and return 'em within 30 days if, for some reason, you don't like them.

Now, with that said, the following site has lots of great personal reviews for items such as this: Audio Review

It was too bad that you didn't order these from 800.Com last week. The incentives were pretty sweet ($20 off $100 purchases - coupon and 20% off from MSN). You could have picked them up for $60 + shipping. The reviews look a bit mixed, but favorable overall.

I have them, bought them online a few years ago for $80. They are awesome, very comfortable, I hardly use them anymore though, because of my Microsoft DSS80 speakers. The only thing is if you use them for too long your ears get "tired" since it can produce such crystal clear sounds. I can last for about 1 hour before I have to take a break. If this is a problem go with the other best brand...Siehn...something.

wje - Well that $99.99 is retail, but in actuality I'd have my friend who works at Best Buy pick them up for me for $57. Don't tell anyone though ;).

mosdef,

I have a pair of them myself. They need new earpads which cost about $35 from Sony's website so I replaced them with a pair Sony MDR-V700.

Well the MDR-V600 are definately not for travel, they need an amp and I don't know what their performance would be like on a battery-powered device.

ditto novon, i got'um, i like'um. actually, they're good for going mobile. they're the pair i use with my sony mini-disc recorder/player because they fold up nicely and the two devices complement each other well. because they're "on-the-ear" type 'phones, the trade-off for compactness and ventilation is more noise intrusion vs. the "over-the-ear" types, like the 900 model. i use the 900 at home and that's where it stays. a word of advice: if you do get them, make sure to wipe the pads with a soft cloth after use, as body oils will prematurely deteriorate them. i'm into my third set of pads, and they're not cheap. ;)
