SONY MDR-NC60 $69.99

anyone of experience buying re-certified items on ecost?

*the 'quantities left' fluctuate in such a sketchy manner, was 2 yesterday, now its 7

quantities fluctuating is just a typical marketing ploy. they are probably sitting on an inventory of hundreds.

seems like a good price for those headphones, but i generally avoid re-certified/refurb items simply because they were re-cert/refurbished for a reason, namely some inherent defect or whatever. as for more/less likely, i'm no expert- but common sense will tell you that unless they explicitly stated that they found a solution to the defect, and that the repairs done to the re-cert'd models addressed the issue, you're not doing yourself any favors by snagging a recert model over a new one, excluding price.

any thoughts on this? is it a hot deal or a big risk?

I have been tempted, but have never pulled the trigger. Their reviews on reseller ratings scare me.
