That's pretty cool, but I dont think these discs will play on regular drives.

Also, I've heard story's about blue lazer cd's that can hold extra data too, or are they the same thing. But this'll mean all new equipment all around, And I think dvd's already use similar technology, or some special lazers.

Yea, there's little point if the disks can not play in regular drives, looks like 90/99 min cds will come in and then DVD R

Those are actually pretty good prices considering you're getting 2x as much data on one media. And as for what will read them, well, as of now, it appears that the writer is the only thing that will read them. But if this turns out to be a good format, it may become a sort of 2nd-CD standard. Let's hope. ;)

but DVD-R is write once, and the machines are expensive, discs are like $30... might as well save some and go dvd-ram...

Are DVD-R's the ones that you can play in your set-top DVD player? I don't think there will be a format other than VCD that'll be popular for awhile until that technology is widely available, and cheap.
