Sony Laptop Power Problems

It's my girl friends laptop so I don't have access to it for a few days.

She says that the battery light comes on (meaning its running on battery) regardless if it's plugged in or not.
She's tried it on and off the docking station, same thing. She's tired different outlets, same thing.
It won't power on plugged into ac power with the battery off.

Any Ideas?

If you have battery and AC power on, the laptop works. Then your remove the laptop battery and everythings turns off? Have you checked the battery with a voltmeter?
At the moment the battery may be at fault, but first check the battery to see how much amps it has.

Hi, What you describe sounds like an AC adaptor problem. Could be the Adaptor, a broken lead at the connector or the internal connector in the Laptop. Laptop should have an indicator Lite that says when the laptop is getting power from the adaptor. Borrow a Voltmeter and check the output of the adaptor. Good Luck, Jim
