Sony Laptop Hard Drive Upgrade Question

Hi,

I've been searching Google and various forums for this question but have not found the answer. I would like to upgrade the current 30GB hard drive in my Sony PCG-NVR23 laptop to a larger capacity drive. Will the Phoenix Bios allow me to upgrade to an 80GB drive? If not, how about 60GB or 40GB? The specifications for my laptop are as follows.
Note: This Laptop is two years old and at the time, 40GB drives were the largest available.
Processor : AMD 1800+ mobile
Bios: Phoenix PH-A05X00802ET

Any information would be appreciated.

Brian

Your laptop should accept 80GB drives without a problem; the new drive should be autodetected on the first boot.

Some older BIOS do have a 137GB limit which can be overcome by installing the latest WindowsXP service pack, but 80GB should work easy.
