$3000 is best price I got on Pricegrabber. Seems like an awesome TV. Would like to know why this is a "closeout item". 100 lbs also isn't too heavy. My dad has the heavy as hell old XBR crt. Tried to move it out as he was giving it to me first upon an upgrade. Couldn't get it out of his apartment even with the help of my girlfriend at the time.

It is a closeout as it is an old model.... still an awesome deal on an awesome TV though.

Always wondered, what is the difference between LCD and Plasma?

BTW, this is not an LCD panel. It's a rear projection television set (>21" deep), using three .87" LCD panels, which light is shone through.

Is a rear projection LCD the same as LCD's used on computer monitors? Also, does anyone know the resolution of a grand wega and if I hooked it up to an HTPC would it be good enough to play games on?
Thanks

i picked up the sony grand wega 42'' for $2100 couple weeks ago!
awsome tv!
60'' is abit too big for my living room anyways =(

Q:Also, does anyone know the resolution of a grand wega and if I hooked it up to an HTPC would it be good enough to play games on?

A: Yes, i play counterstrike source and half life 2 on my 42''tv. It cuts off alittle at the bottom where my health level is...gotta figure out how to get rid of that..haven't spent too much time trying to fix it. Image quality is great.

I DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TV TO BE THE BEST.

Plasma --> half life of tv 10-13 years, image burn on screen, plus maintanence every 2 to 3 years.
LCD ---> expensive as hell, tv/sattelite/cable isn't all taht great on it..pixelation. dvd's are awsome though
Projections---> bulky and image quality is eh, you can't see if you sit on the sides that well, you get a retarded glare and they make my living room look like i'm gandalf in a hobbit living room. =P

LCD REAR PROJECTION = best bang for the buck.
