I've stopped using my MD player since I got my PocketPC. I wish the PPC had a screen-off mode while playing MP3s, though. Nonetheless, while MDs are good, they're no longer my medium of choice. My PocketPC + 512MB SD card + Pocket MVP + ogg vorbis are more than sufficient for my music needs.

PPC does have a screen-off mode. It's called "toggle screen". Map it to a button in Windows Media Player and you're good to go.
