I have a sony laptop with integrated wireless b/g speeds. I have all my ip's statically assigned. I asigned 192.168.1.6 to this laptop. I had this setup worling for a couple of months now. All of the sudden i have no intenet or network access. The signal looks full when i look at it. I did everyhting i cold possibly do.
1.removed the wireless from device manager
2. changd to a different ip address. 192.168.1.10
3. Fresh reinstall of windows Xp
4. updated wireless drivers
So i decided to take it back to compusa on Saturday. But when i got there, i pick compusa signal and my internet was working fine. so i turned backed and thought it might be my network. When i got home and manually configure the tcp/ip settings, the internet was working fine. So i left it.But on Sunday i noticed that the internet wasnt working again. I was mad. I decided to use one of my wireless cards with the same settings as the internal wireless nic. I also disabled the internal wireless nic. The internet has been working fine using my wireless card. What i noticed before was that the internal wireless nic only send packets but is unable to recieve any. I think this is the problem but dont know what i can do to fix this. I think this is a hardware issue. I'm almost positive my network is configured properly since all my family member's laptops are working fine. total of 4 laptops. i also ping my router and had 100% packet loss.
