i've heard that thing:thumbsdown: You're better off with some Logitech Z-680's or Klipsch GMX D5.1. A+ for effort though, OP.

I went thru all the reviews on Amazon before posting. 17 out of 18 the customers who actually bought the system give it a  The Z-680's sure is awesome (not sure about the Klipsch GMX D5.1) but they're computer speakers and this is home theater system. ;)

Don't listen to the apples and oranges comparisons. This a good solution for the price.

True. It's wrong to compare rotten apples (Low-Q HT setup) with fresh oranges (high-Q PC speaker setup) LOL
I guess it depends on who's gonna use them, how often they're gonna be used, how long you planning to keep them, etc.

You get what you paid for <--- The law of compromise

Simply stated, it is probably the BEST HT system you can get FOR UNDER $200!

You say powered subwoofer, but I don't think it is. Anybody confirm that it is powered? I'm not too hot on passive subs.

You are right! It is not powered, however it works very well with the system.
