Hi all,
I'm having problems setting up my sony hdtv to work with my 9000 pro. The tv shoudl be able to 1024* 768 at 60 Hz or so I've been told (yet not confirmed) WHen I set the dvi output to this resolution I get a virtual desktop on the TV with the TV screen being about 75% of the desktop size. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the virtual desktop? I saw on this website (http://www.omegacorner.com/ati_help.htm) that I may uncheck the use DDC info and that may help. But in the latest catalyst drivers I don't see that option. Any suggestiongs would be greatly appreciated.

That is true, however the output will be 480p and that is from the analog TV output connector (s-video or RCA (composite) not the DVI or VGA connector(s)

You'll need to set it to a resolution/refresh rate your display supports. You may need to use something like powerstrip to set custom timings. Go to the AVSforum and check out the HTPC forum. There are some guides and a FAQ or two to get you started.
