I'm excited about the game but hopefully it'll turn out right, I didn't enjoy GoW I and II as much as other people (IGN thinks its the best PS2 game ever released... WTF?) but they were still very fun to play.
I just hope GoW III offers much more depth and challenge than its predecessors.

Sony is in dire need of a console mover. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of GOWIII Christmas Bundle available in November.
You clearly missed the "console mover" bit. None of the above sold consoles like Halo 3 or Gears of War did. I also disagree with your characterization of some of those as AAA, but to each his own.Originally posted by: Piuc2020

I wouldn't say "dire", Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Ratchet & Clank Future LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, etc and their PSN titles (Wipeout HD, Super Stardust, Pixeljunk Monsters/Eden, etc) are all superb AAA exclusive titles and encompass a wide variety of genres and target groups.
They're down year over year in hardware sales. That's going to translate to software sales problems sooner or later. The only reason the PS3 is still behind is because the 360's momentum and price are hard to beat, software-wise the PS3 is more or less the same as the 360, some may argue it's even better.
Sony released news from their Destination PlayStation conference this morning, and in addition to announcing ?Rock Band,? LittleBigPlanet? and others for PSP, it brought clarity to Sony?s release schedule for their PS3 releases.
The aforementioned PS3 exclusives are all slated to arrive during Sony?s fiscal year, which goes until March 31, 2010. That gives them until next spring.
