In the end both will just be like their current consoles, but with a faster processor and more RAM. When they will be released people will be slighly disappointed because it doesn't have all the promised features or the stunning graphics. That's when the fanboys will start screaming "Well give it a year or two, let the game developers try to get the most out it".

This is right out of the "crush the Dreamcast" playbook from five years ago. Microsoft's "kinder and gentler" approach is failing miserably.

I don't know if Sony understands who they are competing against. Crushing the DC was one thing, Sega was on the brink of bankruptcy when it was released. Crushing a company that makes more profit in a quarter than Sony has in a decade is quite another. MS has enough cash on hand to buy every PS3 Sony could possible make and burn them all - still leaving enough money behind to buy Sony and pay the government for anti-trust charges.

Pur is right about Killzone for the deuce not being a great game, but if the vid from E3 is any indication of what Killzone gameplay is going be on the PS3, I am very very excited for it.

Sony's as bad w/ DRM as MS is...I really can't see a strong case for one company being more evil. Sony just has better marketers, and the bad prss they get is all in Japanese

I agree. I don't understand how ppl play fps with gamepads. or do they buy keyboard/mouse accessories?

I only use my ps2 for fighting games, adventure games, and rpgs. PS2 wins hands down in this department even with its graphics limitations.

I'll stick to my pc for RTS and FPS.

some people just like consoles more. they are much easier than a PC. you just put a disc in and turn it on. its also more fun to just sit on your couch w/friends and play a game on your 50" DLP.

and yes i realize you can hook your PC up to a big screen now a days, but its not nearly as simple as a console. i havent played a PC game in probably almost 2 years now (and i used to play FPS all the time on PC). i just dont have an urge at all anymore.

The games are what really matters, and PS3 already has a new MGS game coming out, which is IMO the best game franchise out there. They also have GTA coming out and a new FF game. All Xbox360 has is Halo3, and those that can't play CS play Halo, and I play CS.

You need to go back and check the line-up if you're are thinking all the 360 has is Halo3.

Well they have Perfect Dark Zero and Gears of War, but nothing is known about those games, so at this point the PS3 has the better line up.

i agree the games for xbox werent too impressive at first, but the last 2 yrs it's picked up a lot. i'm pretty satisfied with my xbox, modding it put it over the top.

Ninja Gaiden was a great game, Riddick came out for PC a few months later, Kotor comes out on PC 4 months later, Fable was meh at best, Forza is by far the best racing game in a long time. Splinter cell is boring to me, Halo is for people that can't play CS.

Ummm. Even less is known about those PS3 games. Sony showed a FF tech demo. They showed a MGS promo movie. I don't recall seeing anything from a GTA game.

PD Zero had a less than spectacular demo from an alpha build. Gears of War had a spectacular demo. Elder Scrolls III: Oblivion had a spectacular demo. There were a couple of others that I can't remember off the top of my head.

It's really ridiculous to say that the PS3 games blow the 360 games out the water when neither has a single game released yet.

Maybe the PS3 will be the all-in-one gaming, Tivo, media center PC with kickass online experience everyone was expecting from Xbox 360? But those were not the only words Kutaragi had to say regarding the Xbox 360. When comparing the demos both companies displayed at last month?s E3 expo, Kutaragi said that "the messages of the Xbox 360 and PS3 differ clearly. Xbox 360 emphasized it is a game machine which is complete as a platform. PS3 emphasized the possibility of technology."

sorry, but xBox emphasises (sp?) much more than "a complete" gaming console. If you read the Time mag article or saw a xBox vid about it the 360 then you would clearly know this.
