I have a Sony G420S... her name is Trinny...
Trinny was having some picture problems since I can remember. Finally, I sent her in for a checkup... Trinny came back from Sony a few weeks ago fixing this picture problem, which can be described as a "lines across the screen" problem, which turned out to be a hardware problem and not an interference problem as originally thought. Anyway, getting back on topic...
Just recently, from about 3 weeks ago, new problem: when displaying certain things on the screen, Trinny emits a very high pitched tone, like a "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep". The type of thing that only people younger than 35 can hear kinda thing, so it's substantially high pitched and quiet.
Examples of when Trinny emits this sound: showing the desktop, then opening a smaller window, like Winamp or Notepad. Trinny squeals so long as that window is open or isn't maximized/minimized/closed (from what I've noticed). I know this example doesn't tell you anything, but what I'm trying to say is Trinny is VERY specific to what is being displayed on the screen. Sometimes, depending on the window/desktop layout, merely selecting an app on the taskbar that is already open but not highlighted (thereby lighting it up on the taskbar) makes Trinny whine...
This is very annoying, any idea what it could be? The picture is perfect, but just the sound is the only problem now...
