I use a E400 at home and the Samsung 900NF at work, assuming the G400 is the same picture quality as the E series (I believe it has higher refresh and 2 inputs), then I like the sony picture better. My brother-in-law on the other hand likes the Samsung, he thinks the picture is "brighter", I think it just needs to be adjusted and I don't bother with it as I don't have time to play with it at work. If I remember correctly the sony dot pitch was .24 in the centre with .25 at the edges while the Samsung was .25 throughout, maybee knowing this has biased my opinion, but you can't lose with either monitor as I would and did choose either (in my case both).

p.s. The Samsung looks nicer and has better controls.

Well, I own a Sony G400, got it because of the dual inputs, saved me KVM money. But, only six months after I got it, the darn thing died. No picture at all. Anyhow, had to ship it to Sony at my cost. They did fix it and get it back in two weeks, which aint bad. But, I don't much like having a 70lb moniter that seems to be flaky.

I checked around with many techs and tech sites while it was at Sony and it seems in the past year, Sony is getting MANY more 19" and 21" moniters back then ever before. They seem to be very sensitive to voltage flucuations of almost any amount, and thats killing quite a few of them.

The picture quality is top notch, and having used several Samsung 900NF's at work I have to say the Sony really is much cleaner at high resolutions. But, if I were to purchase now, I would not go with another Sony. Too troublesome. I'd go for a NEC or Mitsubishi, even the new Philips are sharp. The Samsung is nice, but their picture quality is bested by many other makers.
