What, if any, differences are there between a Sony FD Trinitron monitor and a Sony Flat Trinitron monitor?
I have seen the new Sony CPD-E540 21" monitor advertised for as low as $500. The product description lists it as 'visually flat'. On Sony's product page it describes the CRT for the CPD-E540 as 'Super Fine Pitch 21" FD Trinitron'. In contrast, the CRT for the Sony CPD-G520 is described as 'Super Fine Pitch 21" Flat Trinitron'. CPD-G520 is advertised for close to $800.
I am wondering why there is such a big difference in price. The G520 can reach higher resolutions but I am most interested if there is any difference between FD Trinitron and Flat Trinitron.
