Sony Ericsson cell phones

are there anything that's bad about these phones cause i haven't seen anyone with one yet. seems like it's nokia, motorola, and samsung these days. i'm just wondering cause i'm thinking of getting the T616 with ATT. It looks to be a nice looking phone. anyone have any experiences with them, such as reception quality, battery life, user interface...ect?

My t610 is the best cellphone I've ever owned. Go for it! Since the 616 is essentially the same phone, I'll give you some info:

-Bluetooth rules. You MUST get a BT headset. Who cares how dorky it looks, it works amazingly!
-Outlook sync is a snap over BT. Makes entering phone #s & email addresses a breeze.
-Interface is super slick and colorful. Themes allow you to skin the menus/backgrounds.
-Voice dial is good, there are even several voice commands you can use to control the phone.
-Reception is great, never had any problems
-I'm amazed at the battery life for this little sucker. With Bluetooth on and such a bright color screen, I thought the battery would be dead at the end of every day. I'm generally on the phone about 1/2-1hr each day on a combination of a BT Headset and through the handset. When I plug it in to charge at night, it's used at most 1/4 of the battery.
-Games run and load fast. Check out myt610.com for downloads.
-Camera is OK, better than my t720.

...and the one drawback:
-The plastic/screen WILL SCRATCH....A LOT! There really isn't anything you can do about it. I'm living with it and I figure I'll just invest in a new faceplate every 3-6 months to keep it looking new. 🙂 This is a very minor gripe though.

i forgot which model, not the newest ones, had slight lag when you pressed the buttons. other than that, i haven't heard much complaint. i'm jumping on the t610 deal in hot deals =)

oh i see what you mean..i was thinkign if they sent a cable as well in case you dont have IR port or bluetooth enabled computer

Nope, you can buy one separately though. But that totally ruins one of the coolest features of the phone IMO. 🙂

Well I find that generally SE phones has worse reception than Nokia & motorola phones... That's why I am sticking with Nokia for my next phone...

Reception is suck with the T68s..

Coming froma person who has never used one? My T68i gets better reception than the two nokia phones I have sitting here... yes the menu delay is slow... but no slower than my (newer) color nokia (3595? or something) and if you know where you want to go, you just push that combo in and it instantly shows up 🙂
left,9,2,1 sets my alarm 🙂

Agreed. T610 is great phone.

The interface is the best part, compared to some of the Nokias I've used it's ten times better and most importantly it's fast! The screen is great, big, great colors, great contrast (except in direct sunlight). Amazing battery life, it completely suprised me. And it just looks damn good, better than in the pictures. The combination of shiny black plastic and aluminum works.

Definetly the best cellphone I've had/used.

The only minus is the scratching, but I solved that by making sure I don't have any keys or other hard/sharp stuff along with the phone in my pocket. Had it few months and it's basically scratchless 🙂

I'm always careful about what goes in my pocket with my cellphone. The only thing I ever carry in the same pocket is my Metrocard. I guess that is what's causing the scratches. No big gouges or anything, just lots of tiny tiny scratches on the screen & black plastic....basically it's just not shiny like it was when I got it. 🙁

Err, I've had a T68 for over a year. The reception sucks. My brothers phone [Nokia 36xx something] while in the same room [same service] would get more bars than my T68. Every Nokia my uncle has [he gets a newer cell phone every month it seems] gets better reception while in the same room. The features of the phone are awesome though.. only reason I'm looking for a new phone is cause of reception.

I have a T68m through Tmobile that I am going stop using once the portabilty thing goes into effect (end of November???)...

not to happy with the phone...takes awhile (anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds) for it to connect to the network once you hit dial. Also, you can't program number from your dialed or missed call list.

other than that, it is decent...

Press the options key [below the Yes button] when you highlight a dialed or missed call from the call list.

three options:
1. Edit Before Call
2. Hide my Number
3. Show my Number

None of these allow me to save the number...
