I bought a Sony DVDROM model DDU1622 last month for my new build. Tried a DVD in it last night and realized I had not received a software CD with it. All of my previous DVDROM's had a CD with the DVD playing software. This wasn't a problem since I installed the ATI Multimedia center when I installed my graphics card, but I'm curious whether a software CD should have been included. I threw the box away right after I installed it, and never checked to see what it was supposed to contain.

Maybe it was an OEM version, with no software included. I'd check on the retailer's web site to be sure.

Airfoil, that was a good idea, how come I never get those? Newegg sells the retail version, and it comes with Power DVD software. I bought a retail version, but not sure if I bought it from Walmart or the military exchange. I NEVER buy opened boxes, so I may not have taken the CD out of the box before I threw it away, or it may not have been packed. Hopefully the latter. Not a big thing, I like the ATI Multimedia controls. Thanks.
