Compusa is selling this drive for 239.99-30MIR this week.

Best Buy is selling the drive for 199.99 without a rebate.

Compusa's lackluster price guarantee states "We'll beat any local retail competitor's advertised price on every product by $1.00, either at the time of purchase or within the following 14 days."

Whoopdy do - God forbid they have a 110% guarantee that'd save you three whole dollars on this deal instead of a measly sawbuck.

But anyway, the procedure:

PM Best Buy's normal price to CompUSA's normal price - grand total will come out to 198.99

Then send away the 30 dollar MIR to get the drive for 168.99. CompUSA is trying to rip you off anyway with their stock price of 239.99 - even SonyStyle.com is selling this drive for 199.99.

good price, but whats the dual layer media selling for? and is it even avialable? is it backward compatable to single layer dicks? I have one of the first Sony 4x R-+/RW-+ DRU500a and I love it. but I think I'm going to wait till 2005 to jump into a dual layer unless the media for it comes out at about a $1 each.

still a good price on the burner though.
