Sony DSC- P31 trouble

I installed the sony usb drivers and when I go to plug my camera in I get a blue screen with an error message and my pc resets. I'm running win XP. What the hell is going on, any ideas?
 
hmm, xp already had usb drivers for my sony dsc s70 camera & I suspect that yours is the same.
just plugged it in & drivers loaded automatically!
