Sony Cybershot or Canon Powershot Digital Elph?

I LOVE portability. If I get a digital camera, I want to take it everywhere with me and always have it in my pocket. That's why the digital Elph series stood out to me all along. Then Sony showed up offering Cybershot cameras that don't look serious and take their Memory Stick crap. So I was still pretty sure that when the day came and I had enough money I would drop it on a Canon. That day is as far away as ever now (Finances aren't too good), but I was browsing a local Goodwill store and found a 64MB Memory Stick for $2. Now that I have it, would it make sense to buy a Sony camera to make use of it or just buy a USB reader and use it for storage? The idea of yet another proprietary flash storage format with no reason to exist doesn't appeal much to me, but if I already have it I might as well do something with it.

They make multi format card readers so i wouldnt be too worried about what format you use. I was browsing an electronics store the other day and i saw an item that is a P CI card that has a cable the runs to a drive bay much like the sound blaster live drive. It had slots for like 6 different flash memeory types including, SmartMedia, SD, MemStick, CF, etc.
