About a month ago they were selling the 19" G410 for $169. Sony CRTs for the PC aren't being made anymore, so I suspect they got these from a supplier that had a few left in their warehouse.

It's a shame Sony stopped making PC CRTs , I just hope my current FW900 lasts until something better than LCD comes around (SED perhaps).

Even if your FW900 had something go wrong with it, couldn't you still get it repaired? Or is that model really hard to find a repair shop for? Expensive?

Most likely expensive but it depends on what went wrong with it. I wouldnt even know where to have it repaired or if I could trust them to do it right etc. I'd probably end up looking for another FW900 on Ebay instead.

arent seds jsut a mix of all the bad thing that's wrong with both types of monitors?
Native resolution? check
Flickering possibility? check
high power consumption(compared to lcds)? check

Not really...

Should have better brightness than both CRTs and LCDs.
Fastest response.
Flickering? Not sure.
Power consumptions: "roughly one-half that of a large-screen CRT and about one-third that of a plasma display panel." (quoted from SED thread)
Native resolution? Yes. But IMO interpolation is great these days (on some monitors).
Thin? Yes.

I think they will be awesome.
