In the near future, I will be looking for a replacement for my crappy 19' moniter. Im considering the Sony CPD-G220S, or the Hitachi CM771. So far im leaning toward the Hitachi, but I would like to know what you guys thought. Im not limited to just these 2 so post a recommendation around the same price range...if you think something is better.

Hi
Sony is clearly sharper. If you use your computer alot get the Sony, if you don't or want to save money (you get what you pay for)
->Hitachi

Yet another reason to not get a Hitachi Here apparently they're getting out of the biz of CRT. Might be a problem warranty wise down the road. Plus Sony monitors ROCK anyway

PC World says Samsung Syncmaster 950p is pretty good, never seen one myself but my friends thinking bout getting one. They rated it pretty high and it's CHEAP for a 19, actually it's cheap for a 17:D

Good Luck

The press release said Hitachi is getting out of the CRT business NOT the monitor business. Big difference!

The Hitachi monitor division and the CRT division are two completely different units responsible for their own profit / loss. Just like Sony, Mitsubishi, Samsung and others who make both CRT's and Monitors. Other companies like Philips have gotten out of the CRT business also, and continue the Monitor business.

Hitachi is a multi billion dollar company and there is no reason to assume Hitachi will not honor warranties.
