400ps is almost flat and the picture is gorgeous. I own one but its starting to jump some like a capacitor is drying out. I paid way too much for mine when it came out, 990 bucks. If you see one for a great price grab it.

I am very pleased with my CPD G400 that will be 3 years old this summer. It is the model before the G420. Picked it up at Onvia with free shipping for about $560 or so. Worth every penny. The screen is not perfectly flat, but you would never know it during use. Crisp text and vibrant colors. These are heavy monitors, mine is 61 pounds. Check for geometry issues right after you get it as some are not great right out of the box. I rma'd the first one, but the second one is perfect. Free shipping from Onvia was a blessing. :D

i have the gdm 400ps.
it was also a refurb from onsale.com remember them?

anyway, when i got it it was totally screwed.
i sent it to sony to have it fixed. they said that i messed with the screws and wouldn't honor the warranty. WHAT??!!? why the hell would i try to fix the monitor when it's under warranty? anyway, they took it back, and fixed most all the problems. it was very beautiful in 1999. 5 years later it's like.... a really nice monitor with some flaws here and there. like someone mentioned, the picture jumps a *little* bit from time to time. but it's not noticeable. it's more like i'm not sure if it's because my chair is vibrating i notice it, or if the picture is actually moving. there are spots on the lower left corner where the pixels or tube or whatever is dying a little bit, and not as bright as other parts of the screen. in fact the monitor has slightly dark patches in several spots on the screen. i'm definitely replacing my monitor with an lcd this year. someone over at samsung told me that a brand new line of 12ms monitors are coming out.
