for 3$ you can't really go wrong. but make sure its 900mhz spread spectrum or the reception/range will suck

we have one here with an answering machine, the battery life on it sucks...

the one upstairs, i got for 3 bucks or so too (900mhz) and it has run fine so far. The one BBY has is the similar one I got, I have caller ID available on mine.

Personally I like panasonic.. but any cordless is good as long as it works.

Exactly. Buy a Vtech. When it dies, throw it away.

They're alright if you can get one to work. The battery life is a little shady. They're cheap though, so what do you expect?

We have a Panasonic 2.4 GHz phone and it is the last Panasonic phone I will ever buy. It has been the single worst phone I have owned period. The battery will show full charge and suddenly the battery dead beeps start and then it dies. A call to Panasonic resulted in them sending me a piece of foam to stick to the back of the battery compartment slide door which solved squat.

I have the same problem with my 1 year old Panasonic 2.4Ghz phone, the battery weakens to about 10 percent of original capacity after one month of use. I changed the battery several times, but they all die fairly quickly after a month or two.

By the way, the phone uses a nicad battery, which will die if you overcharge or undercharge a lot? at least that is what I heard. But my VTech is going strong after what, 5 or 6 years, it uses nicad too, but it is still on its original battery. Sure there arent as many features as the Panasonic, but it sure as hell is way more reliable.

u cant pull that one until emergency numbers work without trouble on cellphones. so no calling him a ludite. if u don't have a land line, guess its potential phone tag when u dial 911, then they cant find u without much trouble, then whos laughing:p
