Sony Just Can't Shake Off Microsoft

The latest issue of the Official Playstation magazine is said to have some interesting comments made from Sony's Kaz Hirai in regards to Microsoft. When questioned about both taking a similar path, he said that they (Sony) just can't shake 'these guys' and they're (MS) going down the path of everything Sony does...

To me it just seems like everyone copies bits from everyone, just like in any healthy industry.

Now ... Sony is starting to just sound crazy. So Sony tries to copy an XBox Live type of framework, they copy the same type of dashboard interface as XBox 360, they add a "guide" button to their controller, and on top of that, the PS3 isn't even out yet ... but they claim MS is copying them? 😕

i really want some of the stuff Sony guys are smoking. (and I don't smoke)
 
Ummm how can Sony be copying if the PS3 isn't even out? I guess to the same point Sony is copying Nintendo, even though the Wii isn't out.

hell nintendo has been around since the 1800's ... they made card games back then. everyone making a card game is copying them.

well i dont care much about the battle between sony and Xxbox.. I just want a wii because its going to be cheaper, fun games.
Not to say that PS2 and Xbox360 has no good games. But i usually have more fun playing nintendo games :/.
Eventually people are going to start copying each other...a few hundred years...bound to run out of ideas lol..

I haven't heard about this new Sony motion sensing controller. Anybody got a link? Sounds like if anyone is guilty of copying ideas, it is Sony.

They went and hired IBM to design them a CPU. And they use RAM, and have wireless controllers, and you press a button that turns it on, and...

They'll say all manner of mindless dribble. Look at who they're being interviewed by? They have to give their fanboys some more fodder.

And then Microsoft will go to the Xbox only magazines and say how Sony is just copying them, from Live to the hard drive and who knows what else.

Seriously, why do you people even care anymore about what the executives spout, when you know that 99% of it is just crap to send people raving like lunatics either for or against that system.
 
Sony's execs really must have some good sh!t in the executive washrooms. They keep coming up with one crazy statement after another.

Example from the other day:
Obviously, it's a higher-risk strategy--as all new inventions are--but if the PS3 lives up to its total potential, then I don't think anyone will be worried about Nintendo or Xbox's cheaper price.

sony is really getting harsh at this word of wars against MS while they copy all their ideas from nintendo since day 1.

at least XBOX360 has been out for half a year, how can they copy what sony's doing :roll:

how is that copying? they said that from the get go that there MAY be a HD-DVD addon. And on top of that, it's not copying. Copying would have been forcing users to have a HDDVD player in their system, even if they can't output at full resolution. Atleast MS is giving the option, and it's a good idea, because I personally won't be getting any HD-DVD stuff any time soon. I would prefer to have the option instead of being forced to invest in a format that could go the route of betamax.

Yep. Just like all the people that believed the PS3 would be released this past Spring even though Sony was showing absolutely nothing to indicate they would beyond nutty comments from executives.
 
yeah, they're copying. just like every company since. infact, since Voodoo came out with a multi-gpu setsup, both nvidia and amd are copying. and amd and intel constantly copy each other. this is stupid. sony has gone from ok to bad to worse. they makeup stuff about the PS3, price it out of the price range of most people, and keep on delaying it. i don't know about you guys, but i am definently not getting anything from sony in the future. Wii FTW!
