Sony CDrw not reading disks, but reg cdrom will?

Sony crx 175ai work just fine before I had to reinstall w2k. Worked fine installing w2k. But, now won't open any files on any disk? It can read files thru command prompt. I get pop up error messages when I try to open any program on disks. But, the box is too fast to read what the message is. One message I get occassionally is "such and such program is an invalid win32 application. That happens even with the w2k service pack. I replaced it with a regular cdrom, and all works fine. Any suggestions?....thanks.
 
You have a problem with the driver for the cd in windows..... try going into the device driver and uninstalling it - then restart and see if it detects it.....
