Just curious why you wouldn't spend the same money on a miniDV or Digital 8 camera?

Sams has the Hitachi xx865 digital for $565 (less 20% off if you get the Walmart gift cards)

I got my Sony 7000 Digital 8 (now discontinued) for $470 at Circuit City. The resolution and sound quality are so much better and of course if you ever get into editing on your puter then it's the only way to go.

Yeah I am wondering why this is such a good deal over a Digital Camcorder? Just curious. I don't know much about either one and have just started looking a couple of weeks ago, but I was concentrating on digital. Am I missing something?

Scorpi0: I asked amazon about the price. Since they just ship it and I didn't get it yet, they give me $50 credit for it.

Rebuilder: I have to buy camcorder from amazon, because I got some GCs for them. I think less than $200 for a top level sony camcorder is better than a lower level digital one which drop the price really quick.
