I currently have a 32in Sharp Aquos, and have been pushing it on this forums as a great large screen display. It has worked great for me and I love it. I wanted to get a bigger screen though.....SO... I am trying this Sony.

The Sony is a KDL-40s4100 and if it is the only thing that is plugged into my EVGA 8800 GTX the comp will not start. It will post then freeze after the post screen. I think it has something to do with the auto wide-full pixel settings, Becuase, when it post, it will be automatically go to full screen display mode, and then NOT move to full pixel settings. When both the sharp and Sony are plugged in the Sharp has to be the primary monitor on startup or the comp will not start; it will not if the sony is set to primary (once this is done the Sony looks great in 1080P). Once the comp is started though I can then set the sony as the primary monitor, but then I have to move the mouse right to left in order to access the secondary monitor (i want that to be the sharp) but the sharp is on the right hand side.

1. The Sony and Sharp are using HDMI inputs.
2. Does using the Analog PC input change anything for this problem?

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Hey, I just bought the 40S4100 and don't have much problem connecting it via the VGA connector.

However, When I use a DVI to HDMI cable it has a lot of sharpness artifacts; the screen doesn't seem to be sizing up correctly. FYI

*EDIT*

Returned it because it adds a strong artificial sharpness to all HDMI sources -_-

This happened to me when i first got the same TV

Not sure what the fix is but it has something to do with going from DVI to HDMI with 8800 series cards...

Unfortunately any time i reboot my PC i just unplug the HDMI from the side of the TV, wait for the windows sound.. then plug back in - works like a charm

BUMP FOR A PERMANENT FIX

Hook up the TV both ways, boot using the VGA as primary then use the HDMI as your main display when you get into Windows.

Ghetto, but should work ;)
