Sony, ATX Compatible or Propertary??

Hey all,

So my company just shutdown and i got 3 free computers... one is a Sony VIAO (broken case) but has a working P4 3.0GHZ w/ 7900GS.... this video card would be an upgrade for me.

I am kinda looking for a 939 board with pci-e, but they are kindof expensive considering how old and rare they are now.

So my best option is to transfer the contents of the computer into my older case.

My question: Is the motherboard inside the Sony, ATX compatible?

I know like Dell has their own peg set, so that is why I am wondering.

Thank you!

Before removing the sony motherboard, trace the case power switch wires to the board, and notice the pin position so you can atatch the power switch lead for the old case. And check newegg. They had a foxconn atx nforce4 board with socket 939 3500 for only $60 plus shipping, or the board alone for $40.

I appreciate the advice, forgot about propetary PSU problems >_>

I live in Canada so newegg is out of the question > I've checked most regular websites that I browse for Canadian stores and have found some 939 boards between 60-100 CDN
